Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's history combines the merits of family sports academic scholarship with community service. First his parents raised him by Lucious and Jessie Selmon on their Eufala farm as the youngest of nine children. Second football he was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. All three made All-America. In 1973, Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's best lineman. Through his three seasons as Oklahoma's main linebacker and the team went 31-1-1 and claimed two championships. In 1975, he was awarded his third scholarship, and was awarded the title of an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon holds a bachelor's degree in education. Fourth service In the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. In Tampa, he played for the Buccaneers for nine seasons before becoming an all-pro. He also began a career in business. In 1988, he started working as an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed with the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute and also the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized Lee Roy as one of the 10 of America's top young men. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 lbs when his college football career began. He was a captain in 1975. was the captain of the team. In 1993, he was a part of his current position at University of South Florida as assistant director of athletics. The College Football Hall of Fame named him in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Senior. The presentation was made by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
