Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is an Indian actress who has gained fame for her role in Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. The actress began her career in the 80s before coming to prominence with her performance in Tezaab, a film in which she appeared with veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Her subsequent appearance on screen was in Dil alongside Aamir. In Mumbai, she was raised by middle class parents. As a child, she began to learn about stage, she was able to learn dance. Early in her life, when she first started to perform as an actress, most of the films she produced were not successful. She eventually found success and became one of the leading actresses in the Indian film business. After her marriage, she took some time to rest from her acting career prior to returning. Recently, she played a major role in Gulaab Gang. The film was about struggles faced by women across India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Padma Shri was awarded to her, which is India's fourth highest civil honor. Also, she is well acknowledged for her work in the field of charity.
